I would like a Solar Hot Water system, am I eligible for rebates?
Yes you are. There are 2 different rebates that apply to Solar Hot Water Systems.
For those people who are looking to replace their existing electric hot water system, you will receive $1,000 from the Federal Government under the new Renewable Energy Bonus Scheme.
This means that it does not apply to new home builders.
Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) can also be claimed on your new Solar Hot Water System. The number of RECs that you will receive is based on the system that you purchase. These Renewable Energy Certificates can be traded for cash and the the value of these certificates fluctuates according to market conditions.
Example Only: If your system is eligible for 29 RECs and the current price offered is $33, that means that $957 will be returned to your pocket.
Solarco Central West will supply and guide you through the rebate application forms, so the process is hassle free.
Where would I place Solar Panels on my home?
The ideal location to place your Solar Panels would be if they are installed on a North Facing roof, but North East and North West facing roofs are also acceptable areas to install your Solar Panels.
What are RECs and how do they affect me?
REC's are Renewable Energy Certificates. The value of RECs vary and purchasers are advised to shop around for the best deal. Under the Renewable Energy Target (RET), electricity retailers are required to purchase RECs. Basically, a REC is a form of renewable energy currency, where the larger the system, the more RECs you will receive.
If you install a solar panel system between June 9, 2009 and June 30, 2011 you will be eligible to receive five times as many RECs as per the RET scheme. This will reduce the upfront cost of your Solar Panel System. From July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012 you will be eligible to receive 3 times as many RECs as per the RET scheme. This will reduce to a multiple of 2 as of July 1, 2012.
Solarco Central West will supply and guide you through the application form, so that the process is hassle free. Solarco also receives regular updates on REC prices from a variety of companies, so we can help get you the best deal for your system.
Once these forms have been claimed the money goes straight into your pocket, not ours. By taking advantage of Renewable Energy Certificates, a substantial amount of money can be saved!

How does the Gross feed-in tariff work?

What is the cost of a Solar Panel system?
A number of factors must be considered in estimating the overall total cost of a rooftop PV system.
